Epimere

1. In <em>embryology</em>, a portion of the mesodermal wall of the epicœloma in the vertebrate embryo. See cut under <internalXref urlencoded="epic%C5%93loma">epicœloma</internalXref>.
2. In <em>zoology</em>, same as <internalXref urlencoded="epimeron">epimeron</internalXref>.
3. One of the segments of the transverse axis, or the so called homonymous parts; as, for example, one of the several segments of the extremities in vertebrates, or one of the similar segments in plants, such as the segments of a segmented leaf.
4. One of the <xref>segments</xref> of the <xref>transverse</xref> <xref>axis</xref>, or the so-called <xref>homonymous</xref> parts; as, for example, one of the several segments of the <xref>extremities</xref> in <xref>vertebrates</xref>, or one of the similar segments in <xref>plants</xref>, as in a segmented <xref>leaf</xref>.
