Bogwood

1. Wood that has been preserved in a peat bog.
2. Same as <internalXref urlencoded="bog-oak">bog-oak</internalXref>.
3. The wood of trees, esp. of oaks, dug up from peat bogs. It is of a shining black or ebony color, and is largely used for making ornaments.
4. The dark, shiny <xref>wood</xref> of <xref>trees</xref>, especially <xref>oaks</xref>, dug up from <xref>peat</xref> <xref>bogs</xref>, sometimes used for making <xref>ornaments</xref>.
